Our brains prioritise immediate safety threats, like job failure or loss, over long-term health concerns.

The brain's focus is rooted in three main areas:

  1. Function (subconsciously managing complex systems, including by creating shortcuts)
  2. Survival (alert to fear and danger, a range of feelings and reactions)
  3. Pleasure (seeking dopamine rushes and short term pleasures)

Conscious Best self
